Benicassim music festival happened in July, and it was sweet! There isn’t much to write about as the entire holiday consisted of beer and more beer. However I saw some insane bands and had a great time! This was my second venture to the sunny Spanish event, and it wiped the floor with the first year!
The total cost for the event cost me roughly £360 (festival ticket, flights, transfers etc.) however if you book earlier flights this can be much cheaper! The festival lasts for 4 days but most people including myself do Monday to Monday and make a holiday out of it, why not! Flying into Alicante or Barcelona requires a long 3 hour transfer to the festival site, which is pretty grim on the return home. Valencia can also be done however I’ve always found this to cost slightly more! You’ll need spending money on top of this, I took €500 for the week which lasted me nicely as they’re many opportunities to spend!
At the festival itself you can camp in different campsites, these are different prices and include different luxuries such as showers toilets etc. I always camp in the free site as it’s on the door of the festival and saves me £80. VillaCamp is based within the town of Benicassim and requires a bus ride to the festival ground, however it is closer to shops and the beach. It all depends on your priorities, they are both full of great festival goers looking to have a crazy time.
There is a water park next door to the festival ground – Aquarama, this is a day well spent and only costs €25 for the day. The festival ground also includes a quad biking track, I’ve never used it myself but it looks super fun!
All in all I highly recommend this festival! I’m currently planning my third year as I write this blog, the line up of bands is always great and you will not be disappointed. Sun, sea, live music, friends, alcohol, and great vibes – what more could you ask for?!
